As Waggener Edstrom Worldwide’s chief of staff, Julie Allport holds key responsibilities for helping align the agency’s day-to-day activities with its overall strategic goals. Moreover, she serves as a member of the Agency Action Board (AAB), with responsibilities that include partnering with the CEO to help drive the development of the AAB charter, operating principles, accountabilities and metrics.

In addition, Julie has board-level accountability for the agency’s Corporate Communications and Marketing department, ensuring that Waggener Edstrom Worldwide’s key messages and news are effectively delivered to audiences both internally and externally.

Since coming to the agency in 1985, Julie has played an important role in developing top-level accounts, providing counsel to a variety of clients including Microsoft, SAP AG, Sequent Computer Systems, Sega Enterprises Ltd. and Disney Interactive.

From 1997 to 1999 Julie headed the agency’s People Services team, with board-level responsibility for professional education and development, recruiting, employee relations, human resources, and internal communications.

Before joining Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, Julie served as public relations manager for the graphics division at Tektronix Inc. She also worked as public affairs and promotions coordinator for KGW-TV, the NBC affiliate in Portland, Ore., and as a press aide in the Oregon governor’s office.

Julie has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oregon.
